The Sundarbans is one of the largest mangrove forests in the world covering
an area of about 10,000 km².It is one of UNESCO's World Heritage sites and transcends the India
Bangladesh border.
Flora and Fauna
The Sundarbans flora is characterised by the abundance of unique mangrove species like Sundari,
Geva, Goran and Goalpata.
The unique ecosystem of Sundarbans is inhabited by species like leopard cat, fishing cat, wild
boar, Cheetal, Saltwater crocodile, Gangetic dolphin and the Bengal tiger.
Best Time to Visit
Winters from late October to early March is the best time to visit Sunderbans.
About Us
Sundar Resort Homestay in Jharkhali is located at walking distance from one of the forest entry gates to the Sundarban Tiger Reserve. The Tiger Rescue Center is walking distance away from the Homestay. The property can be reached by car from Kolkata which is about 95 kilometres away (3 hours drive). We provide spacious and clean rooms for your stay. Car parking facility is available at the property.
